CONCORD — A candle left unattended on a first-floor unit caused a two-alarm fire at a condominium complex Wednesday that killed a cat and left eight people displaced, fire officials said.
The fire broke out about 1:20 p.m. at the complex on Sapling Court near Concord High School.
Firefighters got inside the building and attacked the flames from there.
The district said none of the residents in the condominium complex were injured, nor were any firefighters.
The American Red Cross was working to find housing for the eight people who were displaced.
