Tetouan Sania Ramel Airport will close temporarily starting Thursday due to heavy rainfall in the region, according to Morocco’s Ministry of Transportation and Logistics. The ministry said the preventive measure seeks to guarantee the safety and security of air navigation, ensure optimal operating conditions at the airport, and allow the services to carry out the necessary technical works and interventions. The airport will reopen once the works are completed and all required safety conditions are fully met, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported. The ministry urged passengers to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates on their flights. Morocco’s weather agency expects rainfall of 30 to 60 millimeters from Thursday to Friday in Taounate, Fahs-Anjra, Ouezzane, Tangier-Assilah, M’Diq-Fnideq, Taza, Tetouan, and Kenitra.
