Maritime traffic at the Spanish port of Algeciras partially resumed on Thursday after a two-day hiatus caused by severe weather that swept through the province of Cádiz, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported. The Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras said ferry services between Algeciras and Tangier have restarted, while crossings from the port of Tarifa to the same destination remain suspended due to continuing adverse conditions. Officials said some restrictions are still in place at Algeciras, including limitations on vehicle traffic unrelated to port operations. Container terminal activity has also resumed, although vessel maneuvers remain subject to assessment by port pilots. Authorities also issued a yellow alert for high waves along the coast and in the strait, with west and southwest winds expected to reach 61 kilometers per hour and seas rising to four meters.
