The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of one Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), two Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), and 26,119 inspectors following its third plenary meeting on 29 January.
In a statement issued by the commission, Funsho Adegboye, an AIG, was elevated to the rank of DIG.
The decision was ratified under the leadership of the PSC chairperson, Hashimu Argungu, a retired DIG.
In what the PSC described as a landmark decision, the commission further approved the promotion of 26,119 Inspectors to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
He was a Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) in Ondo State, and Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department, and Edo State Command.
