PALMOILMAGAZINE, JAKARTA – Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has officially been inaugurated as a member of Indonesia’s National Energy Council (Dewan Energi Nasional/DEN), reinforcing the government’s push to place agriculture at the center of the country’s green energy transition.
“God willing, going forward we will optimize green energy from agriculture.
Agricultural commodities, he stressed, are capable not only of supporting domestic energy needs but also of strengthening national energy independence.
According to Amran, palm oil and sugarcane have already become the backbone of Indonesia’s biofuel program.
The National Energy Council is a state institution tasked with formulating and coordinating Indonesia’s long-term, integrated national energy policy.
