This dual development heralds a new reality: the German Navy is pursuing a two-pronged approach. With the data transfer, NVL is removing a structural obstacle. Cancelling the F126 programme would be politically and financially difficult to justify. Three major surface combatant projects are accessing limited resources in parallel: design, shipyard capacities, supply chains and acceptance processes. The shipyard and personnel issues are critical: are there enough engineers, skilled workers and dock space for three programmes (F126, MEKO, F127)?
