Scott Dorwart has been identified as the person who lost his life in a major accident on the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge on Thursday morning. Dorwart, a taxi driver from Grove, East Bank Demerara was employed with Safe and Reliable Cabs, where he worked for approximately one year. According to preliminary reports, the accident involved a truck that suffered a mechanical failure while on the bridge. The accident caused significant traffic congestion on the bridge. Although the vehicles involved have since been removed, police ranks remain on the scene managing traffic and continuing investigations into the incident.
