Firefighters were scrambled to Arbroath Road in Dundee after an HGV carrying bales of hay caught fire. Firefighters were seen dousing the rear of the vehicle, which was carrying the straw bales. Crews from Balmossie and Kingsway were called to the scene. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said there had been reports of smoke coming from the capsule brake area at the rear of the vehicle. A spokesman said: “We received the call at 9.14am regarding a fire on an HGV carrying straw bales.
