St Johnstone are closing in on the signing of Queen’s Park star, Josh Fowler. The striker has been on the Perth club’s radar for several months and Courier Sport understands a deal for the 24-year-old is now near to completion. Other number nine options were considered but Fowler was always the top target. Negotiations have advanced with Queen’s Park over the last couple of days and the attacker, who has 19 goals to his name for the season, could even be signed in time to feature in Saints’ top-of-the-table clash against Partick Thistle on Friday night. “If there’s a player who has scored 19 goals in a first division then there’s naturally going to be interest.”
