MultiChoice has launched a shared payment option that enables DStv subscribers to share the cost of their monthly subscription with another person.
To compete with growing streaming services, MultiChoice has lowered decoder prices in major markets like Nigeria and South Africa.
Now, the app does it automatically, so subscription payments are quicker and more reliable.
Since launching DStv Coins in late 2025, customers have redeemed over 20 million coins to offset subscription payments, showing a growing appetite for flexible pricing tools.
As more people adopt shared payments, families may start to see TV subscriptions as shared digital expenses rather than individual responsibilities.
