UGI seeks another gas rate hike in March
['Robert Tomkavage']
Wyoming County Examiner
The UGI rate increase request would impact only the distribution charge portion of each customer’s bill, which funds the installation, operation and maintenance of the gas distribution system as well as customer service, emergency response services and other activities required at the gas utility, officials said.
“We’re hearing concerns, all around, and we have been, from clients who are consumers of UGI,” Wallo said.
The PUC may grant all, some or none of the request or may reduce existing rates, UGI officials said.
UGI Gas serves 690,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in 46 counties across Pennsylvania.
In September, the PUC approved a smaller-than-requested rate change for natural gas distribution services provided by UGI, according to the state agency.
