The National Film Registry at the Library of Congress revealed its 2025 registry of films deemed culturally significant, comprising 25 films spanning 118 years. “These selections for the National Film Registry show us that films are instrumental in capturing important parts of our nation’s story.”The list includes two films apiece starring Denzel Washington and Bing Crosby. The list is compiled by the National Film Preservation Board with final selections made by the Librarian. Since the National Film Preservation Board was established in 1988, it has added 925 films to the registry, ranging from student films to Hollywood epics. To be eligible for inclusion, films must be at least 10 years old and be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
