I spent the last week of winter break glued to my TV, anxiously watching the latest coverage of the chaos erupting a few miles from my home in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As news arrived that reinforcement agents had arrived in Minneapolis, the pit in my stomach sank deeper. My friends and neighbors in Minnesota say everything feels quite dystopian. One of my friends saw two ICE agents follow two Hispanic men by car outside her apartment complex. We have often been overlooked as being “Minnesota Nice” but the reality is, we have always been a united front.
