The Goannas, who downed Mudgee in the grand final to be crowned the inaugural premiers, weren't expected to return to the competition. Many of their players are linked to the Forbes or Macquarie Raiders clubs, two sides which had initially indicated they would try and form teams for the 2026 PMPW.
