A 57-year-old Derby man has admitted causing an explosion in Derby which destroyed a number of properties. Emergency services were called to Eden Street, in Alvaston, on the evening of June 10 last year following reports of a blast. He told them: "Those of you who live in Derby might remember the case as it involved an explosion which took out a fair few houses in Eden Street. “Having said that, the impact this explosion had on the residents of Eden Street and the wider community was enormous. The financial cost as well as the emotional cost and mental cost to them all cannot be underestimated.
