Built in the early 1800s on land once owned by the Mundy family of Markeaton Hall, Allestree Hall was commissioned by Bache Thornhill and designed by architect James Wyatt. ‌The plans would allow Allestree Hall to be used for weddings and events for up to 160 people. Councillor Hardyal Dhindsa said: “We’ve had many false dawns with Allestree Hall.
