(Gregory21/Dreamstime.com)The Puerto Rico State Department will take passport services directly to communities through a series of passport fairs scheduled across multiple municipalities in February, Secretary of State Rosachely Rivera-Santana announced. “Last year we visited more than 30 municipalities and managed to process more than 1,500 passports in different communities,” Rivera-Santana said. “Our staff at the State Department’s Passport Office is prepared to serve citizens efficiently, and the support of the municipalities has been key to sustaining and continuing to grow this effort,” Rivera-Santana said. Rivera-Santana said the fairs will process new passport applications only and urged residents to bring all required documents to avoid delays.
