ALMATY – According to the Supreme Court Chairman Aslambek Mergaliyev, 98.8% of court rulings were not overturned by higher judicial instances in 2025, while public trust in the judiciary rose to 63.2%, up from 55.2% in 2023. The data was revealed during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s Jan. 29 meeting with Mergaliyev to review the results of the judicial system for 2025, reported Akorda. Mediation procedures were applied in 45.9% of civil cases and 11.8% of administrative cases. Court rulings overturned by cassation increased from 3% to 18% for civil cases and from 8% to 28% for criminal cases. President Tokayev stressed the importance of Law and Order, ensuring citizens’ access to fair judicial protection, prioritizing the rule of law, and strengthening public confidence in the judiciary.
