The Zamfara state government has reportedly raised the monthly allowance of National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) medical doctors to N150,000. During the recent swearing-in of the 2026 Batch A Stream One corps members in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara, Governor Dauda Lawal disclosed this, according to The Nation. Governor Lawal gave the corps members assurances of sufficient protection and a favourable working environment through Tasi’u Shinkafi, the commissioner for youths and sports development. He went on to say that the state government has implemented safeguards to guarantee the protection of all corps members stationed in the state, working with the NYSC administration and security services. Meanwhile, the NYSC has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to strengthen the empowerment of corps members across the country.
