I have been told that we will see a “wide angle zoom” L VCM lens announced at some point in March. I wouldn't think it'll match the size and weight of the current VCM prime lenses. Voice Coil Motors are likely going to become a core feature of many Canon lenses going forward. That's why I wouldn't put it in the same series as the VCM prime lenses.
