The World Health Organisation (WHO) removed the UK's elimination status after the illness spread continuously for over 12 months.
Across England, there were 2,911 laboratory-confirmed measles cases in 2024.
The latest data indicates that measles cases have declined since the 2024 peak.
This includes at least 491 London cases that received laboratory confirmation in 2025.
