The impact of the pool closure has caused a not-for-profit swimming club, which offers high-level training for competitive swimmers, to lose roughly in revenue which it claims to be about £500 a month. ‌The brand new leisure centre opened on September 1, following months of delays to its initial planned opening date of spring 2025. Canada Water Leisure Centre was built to replace Seven Islands Leisure Centre, which had been in the area since 1965.
