Commuters in Ongar, Essex want Central line services which currently terminate in Essex to be extended to the previous terminal which was axed in 1994. ‌However, local leaders are now calling on TfL to reinstate the line to help Epping Forest District Council keep pace with Government housebuilding targets. Cllr Bromwich added that if a full Central line service is not feasible, TfL could explore the option of restoring peak time midweek services for commuters. At Tuesday's meeting Mr Jabbal admitted TfL is lagging behind on this revamp scheme, adding that 10 Central line trains should have been refurbished by now.
