However, Dr Thomas Aubrey, a visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science, said the experience of building large projects in other major European cities suggests that the DLR extension may need to go further. ‌"So if you're looking at Thamesmead, actually extending it into Bexley may be actually necessary in order to make that up commercially viable proposition." Transport for London (TfL) currently plans to extend the line to two new stations - Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead - while leaving the possibility open for "potential further extension".
