Met cops were threatened with a hammer as they spooked a gang of burglars mid-raid. They raced to the scene at around 3.30am this morning (Thursday, January 29) to reports that a gang were trying to force entry to the shop in Uxbridge Road, Shepherd's Bush, using tools including a sledgehammer. Cops arrived within three minutes and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated burglary as he tried to get away on a moped. They were also threatened with a hammer during the chaos. Photos taken of the scene show an array of tools the gang left behind, as well as some of the booty they never made off with.
