Eligible Apple users are receiving payouts from a lawsuit alleging the tech giant snooped on customers who unintentionally activated Siri, its voice assistant, and shared that information with advertisers. Apple, which denied all allegations, agreed to a $95 million settlement in January 2025. The last day to file a claim was July 2, 2025 and covered people who owned or purchased a Siri-enabled device — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch or Apple TV. They also should have experienced unintended Siri activation during a confidential and private conversation between Sept. 17, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2024. The period began when Apple introduced the ‘Hey Siri’ hands-free feature that those who sued alleged led to unintended activations and unauthorized recordings.
