The touring festival was founded by Sharon and her late husband, Ozzy, in 1996, after Lollapalooza rejected the opportunity for the former Black Sabbath frontman to participate in their touring festival programme. Despite Osbourne’s sad passing in the summer of 2025, Sharon has surprisingly confirmed that she’s currently locked in negotiations with Live Nation regarding the event’s return. It was like summer camp for kids.”Although nothing is set in stone regarding the return of OzzFest, Osbourne did state that it could possibly make a comeback as early as 2027. Additionally, Sharon shared that she’s in talks with Live Nation about another project involving Black Sabbath’s music, which, if it becomes a reality, will see their material performed by orchestras.
