Mad Tacos, a popular staple for the past seven years in Madison County, is closing. Owner Jon Phillips posted on social media earlier this week that he is stepping away from the restaurant. The eatery, located at 3264 Route 20 in Nelson, is set to close Feb. 8, according to Phillips’ post. Phillips also posted that he opened Mad Tacos three months before Covid hit, and that was challenging. It became a popular spot for people to come in and grab a taco and a beer, or order take-out.
