Syracuse, N.Y. — Mayor Sharon Owens is creating a nightlife coordinator position to help make the city more inviting for young adults. The job would be part of an effort to convince young people in Syracuse to become lifelong residents. “That population wants a place in Syracuse,” Owens told syracuse.com on Wednesday. “They see the possibilities of Syracuse and want to know where their space is.”The new nightlife coordinator — sometimes called “night mayors” — will be key to the effort. Owens will search for a person who will work with key nightlife people in downtown Syracuse and all parts of the city.
