The tax season has officially begun. According to a White House statement published Monday, President Donald Trump expects this year to be the “largest tax refund season in U.S. history.”The statement attributes this to the “One Big, Beautiful Bill’s” Working Families Tax Cuts Act. The White House statement explains that this provides tax relief via “No Tax on Tips,” “No Tax on Overtime,” “No Tax on Social Security,” and a deduction on made-in-America vehicles, along with other items. Publications such as CNBC note that the IRS never updated withholding tables for employers after Trump’s 2025 tax changes, and that, too, might have an effect on filings. The Tax Foundation estimates that the average refund, then, could amount to $1,000 or more this year.
