A 47-year-old man has been identified as the person who Pennsylvania State Police shot and killed Wednesday morning at a Lebanon County home. John McDowell was inside a home on the first block of Gable Drive in Jackson Township around 6 a.m. Wednesday when troopers serving a warrant went inside, according to the Lebanon County Coroner’s Office and state police. The coroner’s office said an autopsy was performed Thursday morning. Minutes later, the coroner’s office removed McDowell’s body — covered in a white sheet — from the home. The man’s parents told PennLive they are driving to Lebanon County from North Carolina, where they live.
