A 46-year-old man found unresponsive Sunday in his cell at SCI Camp Hill died by suicide, the Cumberland County coroner said. Coroner Charley Hall said James Campbell died by hanging. He was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m.Campbell was serving a life sentence for murder out of Delaware County and had been at SCI Camp Hill since Oct. 17, 2023, according to the Department of Corrections. A DOC spokeswoman said Campbell was in a single cell when he died. Two people have died at SCI Camp Hill so far this year.
