Diversions on Cumbria train lines amid 'huge programme of improvement work'

The latest stage of £400m upgrades across Europe's busiest mixed-use railway will be completed in April, including signalling and track upgrades between Preston and Oxenholme.
Network Rail has confirmed this work will mean changes to journeys for passengers - leading to the reopening of the "picturesque Settle-Carlisle line".
Trains will divert onto the Settle-Carlisle line with additional bus replacement services.
Again, there will be diversions onto the Settle-Carlisle line as well as bus replacements.
"Passengers should be aware that this work will mean some changes to journeys and should plan their trips ahead of time."
