Through the presentation, Mike Hughes, a Debone Plant Manager with Claxton Poultry, described this approach as essential, noting that transparent communication about equipment issues leads to solutions. Hughes explained that conducting conveyor inspections three times per shift at startup, lunchtime and before shift change can help minimize the exposure windows of a foreign material incident. The best way to protect against foreign material, Guernsey added, is to make sure your whole system works together from the ground up.
