They added this condition: "In the interests of highway safety and to avoid disability or discomfort glare for either pedestrians or motorists." Wherstead Parish Council added: "The application states that all signs will be internally illuminated using ‘white 5000k LEDs’. "The National Landscape guidance and Industry best practice recommends that the colour temperature of illumination is kept below 3,000k, with a preference for 2,700k." Using illumination with a lower colour temperature reduces sky glow and assists in achieving ‘Dark Skies’ by avoiding the blue frequency components.
