Between 2022 and 2025, overall crime in Ipswich dropped by 13%, the equivalent of 2,820 fewer offences. Violence against the person offences fell by 18%, equating to 1,599 fewer crimes, while sexual offences decreased by 15% (167 offences). Neighbourhood crime – including residential burglary, criminal damage and arson, and vehicle crime – also fell by 3%, representing 100 fewer offences. The figures combine data from Ipswich Central, Ipswich East, Felixstowe and Woodbridge, and Ipswich West and Hadleigh local policing areas. He added that despite being one of the poorer-funded forces nationally, Suffolk continued to perform strongly and he would continue to push for fairer funding.
