Doctor's surgery to move into former Ipswich pub 'later this year'

Cardinal Medical Practice is set to complete a conversion of the Inkerman in Norwich Road into new consultation rooms later this year after proposals were approved by the borough council in November.

A spokesperson for NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, who run the practice said: “The plans for the development of Inkerman to provide new space for the Cardinal Medical Practice are progressing positively and at pace.
The Inkerman pub closed in 2022 (Image: Lucy Taylor)"We needed a new and bigger surgery, and we can expect the new Cardinal Medical Practice surgery on the site of the old Inkerman to be open later this year.
Last year, Cardinal Medical Practice announced that plans to move into an £8million 'super-surgery' on the former Tooks site would not go ahead.
