TRENTON – For the first time, New Jersey has separated its own public health vaccine requirements from federal government guidance. The law amends the standards for schools and institutions of higher education to follow current public health best practices. It also requires health insurers and health benefit plans to provide coverage for immunizations recommended by the state health department without any cost-sharing.
