Charlie Wall, 32, of Church Road, Laindon, appeared at Basildon Crown Court via video link on Thursday (January 29) to enter his pleas.
He admitted possessing a controlled drug of Class A (cocaine) with intent to supply in May 2022, possessing a controlled drug of Class B with intent to supply (cannabis) in May 2022, and possessing cocaine without intent to supply in December 2025.
“The reason why he was dealing, effectively, was to fund his drug habit,” the lawyer claimed, adding that Wall’s own consumption of drugs had been “significant”.
The court heard Wall’s previous convictions included driving offences, acquisitive crimes, supplying cannabis in 2014 and supplying cocaine in 2022.
A probation worker confirmed to the court that Wall was known to have “a history of cocaine and cannabis misuse”.
