Wassailing is a centuries-old custom traditionally held in January to wish apple trees a healthy and productive harvest in the year ahead. At Sheppy’s, the evening began in the orchard with the traditional blessing of the apple trees. The event brought together local residents, families and visitors for an evening centred on community and tradition. Folk dancing proved a highlight of the night, with people of all ages taking part.
