With a municipal election looming later this year, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent is preparing to hire a new Director of Municipal Governance/Clerk.
Judy Shantz has held the Clerk role since 2016.
Councillor Anthony Ceccacci took the time to express his gratitude as the current council might change when Shantz is nearing her final working days.
Staff intend for the new hire to first assume the role of an Election Coordinator for five to six months before moving into the director role at the end of the municipal election.
A job posting with the details of the role, including the transition from Election Coordinator to Director of Municipal Governance/Clerk, will be posted for interested candidates to apply both internally and externally.
