- Advertisement -ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):Foreign Office Spokesperson, Ambassador Tahir Andrabi, on Thursday said Pakistan’s decision to join the Gaza Board of Peace (BoP) was taken in good faith to help consolidate a ceasefire, support reconstruction in Gaza and advance a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian Issue. The Foreign Office spokesperson during an extensive question-and-answer session during his weekly briefing at the Foreign Office responded to a series of questions from journalists on Pakistan’s participation in the Board of Peace. The spokesperson categorically rejected speculation linking Pakistan’s participation in the Board of Peace to the Abraham Accords or any dilution of Pakistan’s principled stance on Palestine. He also clarified that the Board of Peace did not replace the United Nations but was designed to complement the UN system. He said Pakistan, along with seven other Arab and Islamic countries, issued a joint statement on joining the Board of Peace during the WEF, underscoring their collective resolve to support the Gaza Peace Plan.
