Abhijit Nath, NET Correspondent, TripuraAgartala, January 29, 2026: Assam Rifles carried out a major anti-narcotics operation on Wednesday in general area Boxanagar, about 41 km south of Agartala, in Sepahijala District, Tripura. Acting on specific intelligence, a column of Assam Rifles in coordination with Sepahijala District Police, Tripura State Rifles and Forest Department, launched a well-coordinated operation. During the operation, 1,45,000 illicit ganja saplings cultivated over an area of over 58 acres were destroyed. This operation underscores the unwavering commitment of Assam Rifles towards eliminating drug menace and reinforcing the vision of a drug-free society.
