Illinois was ranked as the state with the best dental health in 2026 by personal finance website Wallethub, earning a score of 75.21 out of 100.
Mississippi received a total score of 32.93, ranking as the state with the worst dental health in 2026.
The study gave all 50 states and Washington, D.C., a score based on 25 metrics, including the share of individuals who visited a dentist in the past year, dental treatment costs and adults who experience pain due to their oral health condition.
There were two main categories for the metrics: dental habits and care and oral health.
