During her annual State of the County address, she expressed how leadership must be measured by results and reflect the community’s values so that everyone belongs in the shared future.
For her sixth State of the County address, Levina Cava chose to deliver her speech at Florida Memorial University – acknowledging it as Miami-Dade’s only historically Black college and the birthplace of the Black National Anthem.
But this year’s address comes as the county mayor is facing a recall petition, pushed by Miami-Dade Republicans and her opponent in the 2024 election.
