Gorman’s Home Furnishings and Interior Design announced its annual “Michigan’s Largest Housewarming Party,” a community-wide furniture donation drive to help support Metro Detroit families transitioning into stable housing, according to an email from the furniture retailer. This is the third year of the initiative which benefits nonprofits: Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit, Habitat Oakland ReStore, and United Community Family Services (formerly CALC), helping to furnish homes with essential items. Gorman’s will offer free, pre-scheduled furniture pickup on Tuesdays, Jan. 27-Feb. 24, throughout the Metro Detroit area. Donors may call or visit Gorman’s showrooms in Novi, Southfield, or Troy to schedule a pickup date. Accepted furniture donations include sofas, chairs, kitchen tables, dressers, bed frames, bookshelves, and coffee or end tables.
