After a long career selling honey, Nathan Sheets has a deal he hopes voters will find just as sweet: Elect him as Texas agriculture commissioner, and he’ll make food safer and cleaner.
In the late 1990s, Sheets established Nature Nate’s, a popular honey company that specializes in raw, unfiltered honey.
With his honey company, Sheets said he wanted to make an impact for the kingdom of God.
Farmers and ranchers across Texas are going out of business because they no longer can afford to farm, Sheets said.
Sheets said he wants to work with leading Texas agriculture groups to ensure consumer safety and “craft a vision for what a better agriculture and food culture looks like in Texas,” he said.
