This year holds some promise for the return of racing games that do something a little different from the norm, and we're more than ready for it. Tokyo Xtreme Racer is first off the starting line, coming to PS5 on 25th February, and it has a brilliantly old school presence in this latest gameplay trailer:Everything from the visuals to the music to the heavily customised vehicles just screams "PS2 game circa 2001", and we mean that in the most complimentary way. Of course, that old school energy is no accident. The developer is Genki, the same studio behind the whole Tokyo Xtreme Racer series, which stretches back to the mid-90s. After a stint in early access on PC, this series revival is just a few weeks away on PS5, and it's unapologetically its own thing.
