Before returning to the UK, the 76,000-ton vessel is also scheduled to transit the Panama Canal and sail to destinations in the Caribbean. Other highlights of the itinerary include scenic cruising around Cape Horn, which is considered the southernmost point of the Americas. Additional destinations being visited during the cruise include Las Palmas in the Canary Islands, Mindelo in the Cape Verde Islands and Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Delivered by the Meyer Werft shipyard in 2020, the Aurora recently completed 25 years of service for P&O Cruises. The Aurora is set to offer a similar itinerary in 2028, kicking off a new edition of P&O’s “Epic South America Journey” in Southampton on Jan. 3.
