Morocco’s Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, received Yaël Braun-Pivet, the President of France’s National Assembly, and Gérard Larcher, the President of France’s Senate, on Thursday during their official visit to Morocco to attend the Fifth Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum. According to a statement issued by the office of the Head of Government, the visit is intended to strengthen cooperation between the Moroccan and French legislatures and reinforce bilateral ties between Morocco and France. During that visit, France also signed investment agreements across strategic sectors worth EUR 10 billion. Akhannouch highlighted France’s support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, saying it is reflected in official French positions and visits to the southern provinces. He added that Morocco’s autonomy plan is the only viable solution to the dispute that also maintains the Kingdom’s territorial integrity.
